Feb 23rd- Salt Lake City Utah.

Man SLC is AWESOME!! We get in town around 4pm..play a acoustic in store at the Heavy Metal Shop for about 30 people. Kevin Kirk, the stores owner is one of the most decent human beings I've ever had the privledge to know.

Show at Burts Tiki in SLC. 11pm Two Cow hits the stage. We go at Midnight...its Monday night in SLC and 74 good people paid a 10 dollar cover to see a goddamn rock show....Man it felt good...and I am reunited with Shane,Micha,Cody and Andy...They are my soulmates in this rock thing I do. There is not a better band in this country.

Feb 24th- Boise ID

Nice venue..The Bouquet....Fat Tuesday. 2 cow plays 3 songs...coked out of his mind clubowner makes them stop and throws a fit..its a volume issue. Shows over. They dont play, we don't play..fuckem...booker gives us half of our gaurantee...I say fine I just wanna get out of there and get to the Nuerolux for a beer...2 Cow soldiers into the freaks office and gets the other half of the money!!

Richmond Fontaine headlines tonight....unlucky for everybody Splitlip Rayfield is playing across the street as is Murder by Death...its almost like Portland turns into Austin TX for a night. I drink..I drink everynight of this trip!!! Thats 3 weeks of beer shits!! Jeez man. Getting to watch Cow do its magic every night makes this thing go down smooth!!

Almost a sell out! Willy and Fontaine headline again...every band kills it. I study Willy and watch their whole set and really soak ulp Willy Vs beautiful words....They in my opinion,outside of Dead Moon are the most badass,prolific band to come out of this neck of the woods. Willy Valutin is a hero.

we drink..we sleep.. I lose my number 5 drummer..he has to bail out and get home...I've had a shit ton of drummers in thee Loyal Bastards..I dont even want to know their names anymore..it like the Nam or something..you just know the new guy is gonna get killed.

Feb 28th Stanwood WA- The Doghouse

about 100 people private party..anybody who is fuckin rad is here...we are out in the middle of nowhere..this is hillbilly heaven...great bands,great food and yes ,more Makers Mark than a motherfucker can drink..Cow does a 2 hour Springstennesqe marathon...end the set with No retreat, no surrender!!! its 2am....afterwrd Me,Micha and Shane from 2 Cow do ahour and a half in the round playing our most depressing shit. People camp out.

We wake to Eggs and Bacon!! Love you Shakey Steve...you and the Mrs are the best!!

Man....last night was pretty goddamn awesome. I turned 45 in Seattle on stage with Lucero. Those boys are the best.It was a great night of Rock for me....getting old aint hard. I play as hard as fuckers half my age!

Last night was a reminder of how I need to get back into this thing I love....I see how hard Lucero works, Rocky,Jon and Chad and Drag, 2 Cow, other friends of mine that tour constantly. Thats how I use to tour..Hard, Like my life depended on it. when I broke from Sonofabitch I felt lost...like I could'nt do this shit anymore...

Now I'm found. I'm going out with Two Cow Garage for a few weeks in Feb/March....after that I'm gonna bang away..play everywhere that'll have me..by myself or with my fellas...It don't matter. 09 I get back in the shit. I spent most of the last 2 years trying to put a band of brothers together...to no avail..I do feel things are getting that way with Allen and Fred...its comming together.

A new record is getting done as we speak....I decided to call it "fuck'em all but six" its some shit my old man use to say...time to get back to work at this thing I love...thanks Ben,John,Roy,Brian and Rick for the reminder.

Fuckin Boise = awesome!! The Nuerolux is always a good way to kick off a tour. From there on over to SLC where I had played with David Allen Coe 2 weeks prior....SLC is special to me coz the people come no better..Much love to Kevin and Angie and The Heavy Metal Shop....Angie makes the best chocolate Malt on the planet.... We had a great in store and played a kick ass show at Blurts Tiki Lounge.

Next stop Colorado Springs. Had to be rescheduled I 80 shut the fuck down by a freak storm..We rescheduled JJ Nobodys bar the Tripple Nickel for Monday...

Sunday. Surfside 7 in Ft Colllins CO. Great place! Bitchin Pizza!! Met Jon from Drag the Rivers better half Kim..she got us and Power of County shitty drunk!! Ended up slobbering on Matt Stark for most of the night..I don't remember much of the night.

Monday- Tripple Nickle 3 words IRISH CAR BOMBS!! Jeez this ltouring never gets any easier!! Thank to JJ and his brother and Damian and Maggie for taking such good care of us..JJ and Maggie have a baby due on Nov 14..they also have tickets for AC/DC the same day....If the water breaks at the show this will mean the2nd comming is upon us.

Tuesday Denver, 3 Kings in Denver is the coolest place...Jim the owner took care of my bar tab and once again IRISH CAR BOMBS were the drink of the night....Saw my old friend from Red Cloud Ross Etherton and my homey Dave who usta play in Drag the River and now has a kick ass Metal outfit Taun Taun...can't wait to go back in April.

We start work on a new Loyal Bastards record in a coupla weeks..gonna call it "Fathers Day" for my Dad who has passed on to be with whatever comes next after this life.....God Bless us all. God bless America. Vote. This may be our last chance to get shit right.

So getting to play on the bill with Mr Coe was all I thought it would be....buncha good,rowdy,fun loving folks....letting off steam!! And DAC kicked ten tons of ass!! Its the best time I ever had playing a show in my whole life and I get to play another show with DAC next week in Salt Lake City, maybe Boise, thats still not confirmed yet.You know I play with and tour with all kinds of different bands and songwriters, and man sometimes it just feels like you belong. Thats how last night was....I am grateful to all ya'll for the love and support.

Had one of the best weekends of my 44 years.... and I don't remember much of it.Nuetralboy/SGFY, Tumbledown and Drag the River all kicked a whole lotta ass!! Go buy Drag the Rivers new record"you can't live this way" today....one of the most beautiful records..I am a huge fan. Chad and Jon are the 2 of the best songwriters in this US of A....I really can't write much about the shows with my friends..I got Cuervo'd out. sang my ass off and enjoyed some of the best bands around today. My guts kinda hurt now and things are still blurry. You had to be there.

Had a GREAT show with Rocky V last Thursday!! Then more kickassery with Power of County on Saturday and Sunday...I had a spiritual awakening in those 3 days......I really love doing this thing I do! And I truly love the people involved. I feel its time to push it forward...

Rocky and Mrs April are decent,warm people,down to earth as they come. I got mad love for POC boys. I'm digging in, playing bass for them...I'm just getting better...it moves you in other ways backing other songwriters up.

Been letting go of a lot of baggage...time to grow man,as a person,writer,git player ya'know. Fear just seems to float away.At least it did today...I'm OK.

can't wait to see my homeboys from FT Collins ( Drag the River) this weekend..if your in Portland or Seattle come on out.

Man played The House last night with Power of County and did a solo set!! This place is amazing best club thats not a club in the country...The Radio Nationals did a reunion set!! Jeez...Speed Mop also knocked it out of the park...they sure have gotten SUPER kickass in the last coupla years..and thanks Dan for the sound..Chuckanut Drive was awsome as were Williston....They are my favorite drunklen hillbillies as of late....the food was King Crab and Hot Dogs...I made nana pudding which was the hit of the dessert bar...thanks Steve and Shannon for making your farm one of the sweetest memories of my life...ps Matt Stark. please don't "Twist me up"!!

I will be touring with them and am stoked as hell to be part of them...great bunch of brothers....anyone who digs thee Loyal Bastards will enjoy the country music of Power of County...they tour'd with HankIII last summer as Jim Goads backing band..The new record comes out Aug 1st w/release show at Dantes with Jesse Dayton. These boys are as good as it gets.

Feb 7th-Methford OR...Johnny Bs, this place is an oasis..in the middle of nowhere a great place to play in between Portland and San Fran,anyway on the bill tonight are our tourmates the Whipsaws from Alaska..a great bunch, down to Earth..kind to a fault. Hillbilly icon Don Maddox, last surviving sibling of the Maddox brothers and Rose..they recorded on Columbia records from 1950 to 1955..the real deal..his old 85 year old hands played his fiddle like chocolate,babies and soft rain..it sounded like everything good in this world....he played "One Day at a Time" the gospel song and in my drunken swirl..I just lost it!!! Man I just lost it,weeped like a baby!! Thee Bastards then followed(jeez)...Deke Dickerson...night over...super wasted and I walk out of Johnnys without my chord bag,pedals,straps,shaving kit and xanax..shit!! I will borrow the Whips chords, pedals and straps for the rest of the tour...I am a bum.

Feb 8th San Francisco- The Hotel Utah...Havent played here scince Sonofabitch...the last time 04, anyway its a great place...The Whipsaws played their nightly kickass set. The Devils Own tore it up, Mark Rogers, the Devils Own songwriter and singer is as good as any songwriter in the country ANY! look for em on myspace or google or whatever...just find him. it'll be worth it. Opener Keep Sweet sang about Killin,Fuckin and Whoring. A uplifting duo...it was like sitting in drunk church..anyway its the party at Marks house after show that gets evil sick...I enjoy myself and partake of things...bad things.

Feb 9th-Fresno- Tokyo Gardens- 4 songs into the set, voice takes a shit. Show over. Sorry Fresno.

Feb 12th- Lake Forest CA- Gypsy Lounge- A biker,rootsrock bar in the OC....home to Drag the River,Two Cow Garage,Hillstomp....I see friends I have'nt seen in years....but by now not only is my beautiful voice(hehehe) going to voice heaven, but I'm sweating and clammy and cold to hot and snot running and blah,blah....Whipsaws play killer. I man up and get through a set....Andy and Allen(thee loyal bastards) do a great fuckin job the whole tour...putting up with my bullshit can be a bitch..I am blessed to be playing with these boys. They make being sick go down smooth....

Feb-13th-Las Vegas NV-Freakin Frog- Vegas...place of my birth,where I got spit out on this planet,dry dead desert. We roll in to 70 mph wind gusts ,power is going on and off all over the city....The 4 Queens hotel gives us a room that a guy is still sleeping in,the hotel smells like bleachy porn jack stall. I get through the show...see my bros Ivy ,Kelly and Mac...by now my throat sounds like how my girl Brittney Spears feels!!! Quit hatin on Brittney bitches! Fuck Vegas!

Man..had a great show at the Tractor with Scott Biram the other night...awesome crowd..thanks Seattle for your continued support. The Tractor is my favorite place to play in the country, there is something special about it...gonna do the release there in Sept,then a tour to follow...the new record just got finished being mixed. Its pretty damn good. Thanks to the Tractor and Greg,Dan,Andrew and the staff they are truly the best.

Real quick...Fuck Las Vegas and the Bunkhouse.....Fuckin place is run by tards..fuckin overbooked night...hipster DJs crying bout bands stepping on their"set".
